Here are my characters for this weeks shape challenge, my theme was senior citizens.
Im gonna work on a turn around for one of these later this week.

Character design part 2

i just finished up the turn around for this weeks character, Its been a while since i've done a turn I quite enjoyed myself. Rainy day outside so perfect time to sit and draw some more. i still need to do facial expressions for the character.

Just Face it

Here is an example of how to collect your reference images, these were collected from the yahoo homepage, I simply take a snapshot of the available portraits, and compile them in a 5x9 photoshop document and desaturate the color. I will usually fill it up and label it to store in a handy file on my hard drive. Don’t forget to back your library up as accidents like harddrive crashes happen and there goes all your images and hard work. Now your ready to handle a day with a case of artist block, just open a photo and start having fun drawing.

Modbook vs iPad

Modbook wins... Fatality!. iPad sucks in my opinion and thats final. People should stop complaining to apple and just get a Modbook, apparently Apple thinks the market isn't large enough to produce a Mac tablet. so....WTF?.... Axiotron picks up their slack, good for you Axiotron! the news is there will eventually be a 15" Macbook Pro Mod too, but you better start saving.
it will run you about 5g's but the 13" mod available now is a great deal more afordable, at $1,700 for the complete or about $700 to transform your current 13" into one.

I got to try one at a comiccon back in I think it was 2004 when it was first announce, and the response to pen was amazing. now its not a touchscreen let that be clear, so you don't have to worry about accidently pushing buttons and opening applications while your palm rests on the screen when drawing.

its good to see where tech is headed for these types of products so a bright future is at hand for us " i want everything in the grasp of my hand-artist on the go".

Weekly Character Design

a friend over at DA "Luigi" (you can find him in my -hired muscle section-) started this weekly character design thing that i decided to jump on. its meant to challenge you by forcing you to create characters with random shapes uploaded by him.

More this week. yes one looks like Keith Richards.

Technological Advancements

2 games that wow me already this early in the year. im currently playing Mass Effect 2 for xbox360, im 27 hours into the game, yes 27 hours, its a long game includes 2 discs. amazing story and game engineering, the gameplay is beautiful. video games have come a long way.

Red Dead Redemption isn't out yet but i reserved a copy last week.

Im still hitting this ha! so addicting. Getting the hang of it little by little. you can actually blend a bit by switching pencils,
so scratch my last complaint about the blending. this is my last post for today i gotta get some sleep...yeah right i'll probably be sketching in bed :D
